See Orange Line Work We Completed February 14 – 16

Over the last 4 weekends, we completed the first phase of 2020 Orange Line acceleration work.
These service shutdowns allowed our crews to complete work on 2 projects simultaneously—Orange Line Maintenance and Station Brightening—during which we replaced more than 1,000 feet of rail, repaired platforms, and rebuilt stairs to renew the service life and reliability of our infrastructure.

Building a Better T
As part of our $9.6 billion, 5-year capital investment plan, we're renovating stations, modernizing fare collection systems, upgrading services for our buses, subways, and ferries, and improving the accessibility of the entire system.
Weekend 4: What We Completed
During the fourth and final weekend shutdown of winter 2020, our crews replaced 90 feet of track on State’s southbound side and installed 113 rail ties on Haymarket’s northbound and southbound sides.
We also:
- Installed new tactile warning strips on North Station’s northbound and southbound sides and made edge repairs to the southbound platform
- Installed new wayfinding signs on Downtown Crossing’s southbound side
- Repaired the upper section of stairs leading to Chinatown's southbound platform
