Public Meeting | Alewife Garage Redevelopment Forum (Hybrid)
Meeting Info
Attendees: Open to everyone
Event Description
The MBTA looks to redevelop Alewife station, one of our busiest transit hubs. The MBTA will be seeking a development partner to work with to create a vibrant, user-friendly transit center that better serves riders and the local community.
Under General Manager and CEO Phillip Eng’s leadership, the MBTA will host its first industry forum for developers and industry professionals to learn more about the MBTA’s facilities and to hear about the development partner search that will begin later this fall. Interested developers and industry professionals are invited to attend the forum either online or in person at the State Transportation Building in Boston on Thursday, August 8, at 1 PM.
During the forum, MBTA General Manager Eng, Cambridge City Manager Yi-An Huang, and officials will offer remarks. MBTA officials will provide an overview of the development opportunity and MBTA facilities on the site. The MBTA anticipates selecting a development partner and engaging the public in the project planning process in the Spring 2025.
Members of the public are welcome to listen to the session online.
