Somerville Bridge Closures

Due to Green Line Extension work that began in March 2019, 3 bridges in Somerville have closed.
Broadway Bridge in Ball Square closed March 22. MBTA bus routes 80 and 89 are detoured long-term due to the work. Riders affected by the detours can consider these alternate bus routes:
- 87 Clarendon Hill or Arlington Center - Lechmere via Somerville Avenue
- 88 Clarendon Hill - Lechmere via Highland Avenue
- 90 Davis - Wellington
- 94 Medford Square - Davis
- 96 Medford Square - Harvard
- 101 Malden Center - Sullivan via Winter Hill
Washington Street Bridge Underpass in East Somerville closed construction on April 8, 2019. MBTA bus routes 86, 91, and CT2 will be detoured long-term due to the work.
