A computer rendering shows what the Parker Street Bridge will look like after full replacement.

We’re replacing the bridge that carries the Haverhill Line over Parker Street in Lawrence near Lawrence Station.

This project will bring the bridge to a State of Good Repair, improving safety, resiliency, and reliability of the Haverhill Line.

What to Expect During this Work

Crews will remove the existing bridge and move the new superstructure into place. This work will take place from 8 PM on Thursday, September 16 until 4 AM on Tuesday, September 21.

Service Impacts

Shuttles will replace trains between Andover and Haverhill from Saturday, September 18, through Monday, September 20. Inbound buses will depart 15 minutes prior to usual train departure times.

Neighborhood Impacts

To allow for this work, Parker Street will be closed to all vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic from 8 PM on Thursday, September 16 until 4 AM on Monday, September 20.

A signed detour route will be in place before construction begins. We encourage drivers to avoid the area or seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
